При составлении платежного баланса (balance of payments) стоимостные оценки бартерных сделок (обмен товаров непосредственно на другие товары) и операции в форме передачи имущества по лизингу (см.financical leasing) производятся на основе расчетных денежных единиц, которые формируются по аналогии с рыночными ценами, сложившимися в сходных внешнеэкономических условиях.
